What's New at Wattsphoto.com

Fall 2008

Fall Is Here!

A chill is in the air, and soon the leaves will turn bright shades of red and gold.  We are busy preparing for our own display of red and gold which will be featured in our upcoming Fall and Christmas Craft Shows.  Both this newsletter and the website now list our fall show schedule.  Due to the continuing high cost and inconsistent availability of fuel, we are once again limiting our show travel, but we now have all the images we've displayed at previous shows posted for online ordering.  If there was something you had in mind, but have trouble finding it, call and we can help.  We hope to see you at one of our upcoming shows.

New Galleries/Images:

Love Rainforest Frogs?

  • New images of Poison Dart Frogs have been added to the Frog Gallery.  These images include the Panamanian Golden Frog, Blue Poison Frog, Dyeing Frog, and Bumblebee Frog.

Frog FataleThe year 2008 was declared to be the Year of the Frog in an attempt to call global attention to the rapid and devastating decline of amphibians worldwide, and to promote support for programs aimed at saving amphibians.

The Panamanian Golden is special in that it displays a waving behavior as a form of communication.  The Panamanian Golden Frog is thought to be extinct in the wild due to the rapid and devastating spread of chytrid fungus, an infectious skin disease.  It is not known when or if captive golden frog populations will be able to be returned to the wild.

What happened to your fall Columbia, SC Show?

We wish to apologize to our Columbia customers, as we will not be able to make the Columbia "Christmas Craftsmen's Classic".  This show is being held the same weekend as the Augusta "Christmas Made In The South" show in Augusta, GA.  We love both shows and really wish we could be at both.  Since we were at the spring Columbia show, we decided to participate in the Augusta show this fall.  We'd like to remind our Columbia customers that since we're locals, we can deliver or arrange for local viewing or pick-up of items.  Therefore, please call if there is something you would like to see or purchase, and we'll do our best to accommodate, or please think about visiting with us in Charleston or Augusta, just a short ride from Columbia!

In addition, we will have 3 of our photographs displayed for purchase at the Fine Arts exhibit of the South Carolina State Fair.

If there is a particular photograph you would like to see at one of our shows, please email me the name of the photograph and the show you plan to attend.  I will make an effort to have that photo available at that show.  There is no obligation to purchase.

We have lots of new photographs and frames to display in our upcoming Fall shows.  We hope you'll be able to make one, and stop in to say hello and see what's new.

As usual, we will have specialty items and note cards along that are not available directly through the web-site.

If  you're looking to send a photograph as a holiday gift, we will once again offer complimentary gift wrap when ordering through our web-site.  Just let us know this is a gift and to whom you would like the item(s) shipped.  Please place holiday orders on or before Friday December 19th to assure you will receive the item on or before December 24.   (*If you are ordering a specialty paper item, 20x30, or 30x40 prints, please place your order as early in December as possible, or call to see if we have the item in stock.)

Website Tips:

  • You can search for pictures by title or keyword using the boxes below the thumbnail images on the home page.  If you know the title of a photo you are looking for, the fastest way to find it may be to start by entering the first letter of the title search bar, and then just scroll down to the name.  The keyword search uses the google search engine.  While convenient, be aware that it can take many weeks for google to index new pages and therefore it fails to find our newest images.

  • You can always return to the home index page by clicking on the "Watts Photographic Images" banner.

We'd Love Your Photos:

If you purchased one of our photos and now have it framed and displayed in your home or business, we'd love a picture of it to display on our web page!

HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
