About White Alligators:

Is that Alligator an Albino?

Eye of the White Alligator It is said that if one gazes into the eyes of a white alligator, that good luck and prosperity will come to them in the New Year.

White alligators coloration comes from a rare combination of recessive genes.  They live primarily in freshwater swamps and marshes in the Southeastern United States.  White alligators are lacking pigmentation in their skin but their eyes are pigmented, hence they are not albino.

Alligators make a low frequency bellowing sound which can travel a significant distance through the water to  announce their presence to prospective mates.

Keep your eyes open, and you might just be luck enough to see one of these rare creatures!
